The Commanders fans finally got a look at their prized No. 2 overall pick QB Jayden Daniels in Week 1 of the preseason, and the rookie did not disappoint. He connected with WR Dyami Brown on a perfectly placed 42-yard pass which set up his 3-yard touchdown run. Washington fell 20-17, but the fans saw exactly what they wanted to see from the future of their franchise. Coach Dan Quinn confirmed that Daniels will start against the Dolphins.
Miami did not play many offensive starters in its preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons, but prevailed 20-13. The bulk of the quarterback snaps were split between Skylar Thompson and Mike White, who combined to go 12 of 33 for just over 100 yards. When asked if he’d play against Washington Saturday, QB Tua Tagovailoa replied, “I hope so.” The second preseason game is typically the dress rehearsal for the regular season.
