The Washington Capitals (14-8-2-2, 8-15 PL, 7-15 O/U) battle the Nashville Predators (16-13, 11-3 PL,0-10-5 O/U) in an interconference bout on Saturday night. The Capitals were dealt a road loss by the Flyers on Thursday. The Predators earned a win against the Flyers on Tuesday and play in Carolina on Friday night.

The Washington Capitals continue a four-game road trek. Washington has been solid recently, winning two of their last three games. This was highlighted by a convincing 4-0 home win against the Rangers. They also beat the Blackhawks 4-2 followed by a 4-3 shootout road loss to the Flyers on Thursday night. The squad is third in the Metro division.

Alex Ovechkin is in a slump. The veteran sniper has not scored a goal since November 18th. He has only netted two points this month and leads the squad with 16 points on the season. He scored one goal against the Predators last season. Dylan Strome is in a groove, netting four goals in his last five clashes. The 26-year-old center is having a mediocre season, recording 16 points. Evgeny Kuznetsov did not play on Thursday due to an illness and is questionable. The veteran center has issued 11 points on the season. TJ Oshie only has three points in 20 games t his season.

The Capitals have been giving Charlie Lindgren plenty of starts recently in the net recently. The young goalie was in the net on Thursday and has been the better goalie. He has registered 2.39 GAA and a .929 save % accompanied by a 6-2-2 record.  Darcy Kuemper has a weak 3.13 GAA and a .892 save % with a 6-6-2 record.

Washington is averaging 2.5 goals per game, ranking them 30th. They are conceding an average of 2.8 goals, placing them ninth.
