Alex Ovechkin sat out the Golden Knights game due to a lower-body injury and is listed as questionable to play Tuesday against Colorado. TJ Oshie will miss the Avalanche game due to personal reasons, so the Capitals’ frontline might be quite shorthanded.

Darcy Kuemper yielded four goals on 18 shots in Las Vegas, while Charlie Lindgren allowed two goals on nine shots in relief. Kuemper took a loss, and the 2022 Stanley Cup champion with the Colorado Avalanche is now 14-12-4 with a 2.55 GAA and .917 save percentage in 2022-23. Darcy has recorded a whopping five shutouts so far this season. The Capitals rank tenth in the league in goals against (2.80 per game) and 15th in goals for (3.18).
