The Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks face off on Tuesday in an NHL showdown at the United Center. When these two teams faced off last December it was the Blackhawks that secured the 5-4 victory in overtime. This is the first meeting between the two teams this season.

The Blackhawks are really struggling heading into this game having lost three games. Over the last three games the Blackhawks have scored only one goal. On Friday against the Winnipeg Jets, the Blackhawks scored a 3-1 victory. Chicago is averaging 2.38 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.54 goals per game. The offense is ranked 32nd in the league. Patrick Kane has scored four goals and added 16 assists.
