The VMI Keydets and Chattanooga Mocs face off on Friday in a college basketball showdown in the Southern Conference at US Cellular Center. When these two teams faced on February 15th it was Chattanooga that secured the 78-58 victory.
VMI comes into this game with a 7-24 record overall and they have gone 13-15 against the spread. In the last game against Western Carolina, the defense really struggled giving up 85 points and that led to the 19 point defeat. Tyler Houser finished with 26 points and six rebounds. VMI is averaging 69.3 points while their defense is giving up 76.3 points per game. VMI’s offense hasn’t been good enough with the way the defense has struggled. Ashey WOods is averaging 14.1 points while shooting 38.9 percent from the field.
On the other side of this matchup is Chattanooga who sits with a 15-16 record overall and they have gone 11-16-1 record overall. In the last game against Wofford, the defense gave up 86 points and that led to the 12 point defeat. KC Hankton finished with 14 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Chattanooga is averaging 76.5 points while their defense 72 points per game. They are a strong offensive team but at times the defense has been an issue. Jamal Johnson is averaging 13.4 points while shooting 54.9 percent from the field.
