The Virginia Tech Hokies (10-6, 7-9 ATS, 7-9 O/U) meet with the Virginia Cavaliers (11-5, 8-8 ATS, 6-10 O/U) in a state rivalry showdown on Wednesday evening. The Hokies were dealt a home loss by Miami on Saturday. The Cavaliers lost a road bout against Wake Forest in their previous game. Each squad earned a home last season.

The Virginia Tech Hokies are seeking a third ACC win. They have lost three of their last four bouts. Virginia Tech has been involved in narrow decisions early in conference play. They lost by just three points at Florida State, rebounded by earning a convincing  87-72 home win against Clemson, and were two-point dogs in a 75-71 home loss to Miami on Saturday to dip to 2-3 in ACC play. The Hokies have covered the spread in just one of their five ACC games.

Sean Pedulla is hot, sinking at least 26 points in three consecutive games including 33 points against Miami. The junior guard has increased his season average to 16.1 PPG on 43.1% shooting. Lynn Kidd has connected on at least 50% in two of his last three games. The senior center scored 16 on Saturday and has recorded an average of 14.8 PPG and 7.1 RPG on the year. Hunter Catoor did not play on Saturday due to a head injury and is questionabl e for this one. The senior guard is a key player, issuing an average of 13.5 PPG.

The Hokies are marked 60th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and have yet to win on the road this season where they are 0-3 including a loss to Wake Forest. Virginia Tech has scored at least 70 points in three straight games and is scoring an average of 74.1 points on the year, ranking them 198th. They are holding opponents to 67.7 points, placing them 94th.
