Virginia Tech shot out of the gates this season at 10-1 in non-conference play as they hoped to return to the NCAA Tournament in 2023. Thing have cooled off dramatically in ACC play, however. Since winning their conference opener, the Hokies have dropped four straight ACC contests. The latest setback came at home against North Carolina State. After spotting the Wolf Pack a 14-point halftime lead, Virginia Tech was never able to come all the way back despite outscoring NC State 13-4 in the last 55 seconds in a 73-69 loss. Virginia Tech finished with three players in double figures including Sean Pedulla, who finished with 19 points and four assists.

Virginia Tech will need to pick up the pace if they want to compete for a regular season ACC crown or at least qualify for an at-large bid to the Big Dance. The Hokies are 84th in the country thus far in scoring offense. They are 133rd from long range as well. VTU has the 111th best rebounding team in the country. They will not, however, hurt themselves with turnovers. Virginia Tech is ranked 7th in the country in turnovers per game. Defensively, they have been solid with the 56th ranked scoring defense and the 66th ranked 3pt defense.

Key Injuries: Guard Hunter Cattoor is questionable with a forearm issue.
