Virginia Tech vs. Georgia Tech Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-15-2023

Its a battle of the techs in the Atlantic Coast Conference as the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets host the Virginia Tech Hokies on Wednesday. Georgia Tech is 9-16 overall and 2-13 in the ACC while Virginia Tech is 15-10 overall and 5-9 in the ACC. Virginia Tech won both matchups against Georgia Tech last season. This is their first meeting this season. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m. EST at the Thrillerdome in Atlanta.

Virginia Tech has been playing well as of late, winning two of the last three games and four of their last six. And they have picked up some big wins, beating Duke, Virginia, Syracuse and Notre Dame. Yet, they inexplicably lost to Boston College as a 13 point favorite. But they got the taste of that bad lost out of their mouths with a 93-87 win at Notre Dame on Saturday.

The win improved their record to 15-10 overall and 5-9 in the ACC. The NCAA tournament is a long shot, but not out of the question with a strong finish. But that is a tall order with Pittsburgh, Miami, and Duke still left on the schedule. In the win over Notre Dame, Grant Basile had his best game of the year with 33 points and 7 rebounds while Justyn Mutts added 19 points. Basile leads the team with 16.3 points per game. The Hokies average 74.7 points per game and give up 68.8 points per game.
