Virginia Tech at Wake Forest – 12/31/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Virginia Tech Hokies and Wake Forest Demon Deacons face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at the LJVM Coliseum. When these two teams faced off last December it was Wake Forest that secured the 80-61 victory. This is a key early conference game for both teams who still have some question marks.

Virginia Tech comes into this game with an 11-2 record overall and they have gone 6-7 against the spread. In the last game against Boston College, Virginia Tech scored 65 points but it wasn’t enough as they were defeated five points. The Hokies are averaging 75.4 points while their defense is giving up 62.9 points per game. The offense has been inconsistent, but the offense has been good this season. Sean Pedulla is averaging 17.3 points while shooting 48 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is Wake Forest who sits with a 9-4 record and they have gone 6-7 against the spread. In the last game against Duke, Wake Forest scored 81 points and they won by 11 points. There were five different players that finished with at least 10 points. Wake Forest is averaging 75.5 points while their defense is giving up 70.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 122nd and it’s going to need to be the offense that runs up the score again here. Tyree Appleby is averaging 18 points while shooting 50.4 percent from the field and 42.6 percent from behind the three point line.
