The week nine college football schedule will kickoff on Thursday night with an ACC Conference clash between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the NC State Wolfpack. The Hokies (2-5) are looking to snap a four-game losing streak and are one of the lowest scoring teams in the country (19.4 ppg). Last time out, Virginia Tech was held scoreless for the first three quarters and outgained by 200 yards during a 20-14 home loss versus Miami.

Virginia Tech WR Malachi Thomas caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Grant Wells to cut the deficit to 20-7. Wells added a three-yard touchdown run for the Hokies, who managed just 257 yards of total offense.

The NC State Wolfpack came into this season expecting to challenge for a conference championship, but lost QB Devin Leary for the season with a torn pectoral. Dual-threat QB Jack Chambers started in place of Leary and completed 18-for-30 passes for 160 yards. Chambers added a team-high 58 rushing yards and Christopher Dunn nailed three field goals.
