Virginia at Georgia Tech – 12/31/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Virginia Cavaliers and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at McCamish Pavillion. When these two teams faced off in February it was Virginia that secured the 63-53 victory. 

Virginia comes into this game with a 9-2 record overall and they have gone 3-8 against the spread. Two games ago against the Miami Hurricanes, Virginia was competitive, but they didn’t make enough defensive stops and ended up losing by two points. In the last game against Albany, they bounced back winning 66-46. The Cavaliers are averaging 69.8 points while their defense is giving up 58.5 points per game. Forward Jayden Gardner is averaging 11.8 points while shooting 54.9 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is Georgia Tech who sits with an 7-5 record and they have gone 6-5 against the spread. In the last game against Clemson the offense scored only 65 points and they lost by 14 points. Two games ago against Alabama State, Georgia Tech scored 96 points. Georgia Tech is averaging 72.5 points while their defense is giving up 68.2 points per game. They are averaging 62.2 shots per game which is 47th in college basketball. In this game, Georgia Tech is going to need to find a way to get the offense going here.
