The Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals play in a cross-conference tilt on Saturday, and our Vikings vs. Bengals prediction for Saturday is based on the best NFL odds.
In the upcoming Week 15 matchup, both the Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals head into the game on the heels of recent wins. Led by Jake Browning, the Bengals secured two consecutive victories, notably dominating with a 34-14 win against the Indianapolis Colts in their latest matchup. Meanwhile, the Vikings emerged triumphant in a hard-fought game against the Las Vegas Raiders, culminating in a low-scoring 3-0 finish that left no decisive winner but showcased the Vikings' ability to secure a hard-fought victory.
With both teams standing at 7-6 and in the hunt for their respective playoff pictures, who will secure a crucial win on Saturday?
As part of our NFL predi ctions for Week 15, here is our best Vikings vs. Bengals prediction for Saturday afternoon (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).
Vikings vs. Bengals prediction: Saturday
This is where Jake Browning's Linsanity run ends. OK, maybe that's a bit unfair, but I do think Browning is due to come back down to earth after clearing this mark in back-to-back games against the Indianpolis Colts (275 passing yards) and Jacksonville Jaguars (354 yards). The market clearly agrees, pushing this total down three yards from its opening number.
With a projection of 230.5 passing yards, there is a decent edge on this current Under. If you think that projection is a touch low, keep in mind that we are a few weeks removed from Browning throwing for 227 yards on 26 attempts in a 16-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Vikings have been im proved on the defensive end with Brian Flores taking over play-calling duties this year as defensive coordinator. Minnesota has jumped from 29th to fifth in defensive points allowed, which is considered the greatest leap in franchise history. The Vikings are sixth in defensive DVOA, trailing a few of the top teams in the NFL in that metric.
According to Pro Football Focus, the Vikings have the fourth-ranked coverage grade and are top-10 in overall defense. They figure to present more of a challenge than Browning has faced in recent weeks since the 27-year-old became the starting quarterback in place of an injured Joe Burrow.
