Vegas Golden Knights vs. Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-1-2022

The Vegas Golden Knights (17-6-1, 12-12 PL, 9-13 O/U) battle the Pittsburgh Penguins (11-8-4-0, 10-13 PL, 11-12 O/U) in an inter-conference bout on Thursday night. The Golden Knights defeated the Blue Jackets in their previous action. The Penguins were hit with a home loss against the Hurricanes on Tuesday. The Penguins went 2-0 against the Golden Knights last year.

The Vegas Golden Knights resume a four-game road trek on Thursday. They opened with a 3-2 shootout victory in Columbus on Monday, snapping a mini two-game losing streak. Vegas is having an outstanding season and have especially been difficult to beat on the road where they have just one regulation loss and one overtime defeat. The Golden Knights are 5-4-1 in their last ten games.

Jack Eichel is having a productive season but has definitely cooled down recently, going three consecutive games without recording a point. The 26-year-old center has 11 goals along with 26 points on the year. Alex Pietrangelo continues to produce, amassing 15 points on the month. The veteran blue-liner continues to be one of the best in the game.  He has logged 21 points on the year. Chandler Stephenson had two points in two games against the Penguins last year. The 28-year- old center is quietly having a productive year, posting 19 points and a plus-nine rating.

The Golden Knights have started Logan Thompson in the net in two straight games. The 25-year-old netminder has been inconsistent recently and has filed a 2.44 GAA and a .921 save % accompanied by a 12-4 record while backup Adin Hill enters with a 2.74 GAA and a .903 save %. Vegas is scoring an average of 3.5 goals, landing them seventh. They are conceding an average of 2.7 goals, placing them seventh in the NHL.
