The 2022-23 NHL season continues Thursday, February 9, with the Vegas Golden Knights facing off against the Minnesota Wild in the Western Conference showdown at Xcel Energy Arena in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Vegas and Minnesota start their three-game regular-season set. The Wild open as -120 moneyline favorites, while the Golden Knights are +109 road dogs with a total of 6.0 goals.
The Vegas Golden Knights enjoyed an All-Star break, stopping a four-game slide with a 5-1 thrashing of the Nashville Predators this past Tuesday. Nashville took a lead after 5:04 of play in the first period, but Vegas needed less than two minutes to turn the game on its head. The Golden Knights never looked back, and five guys found the back of the net including Chandler Stephenson, who now has 12 goals and 34 assists on his season tally.
“It’s tight in the West so you’ve got to make these games count,” Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said. “There’s still a lot of hockey left. Let’s start taking care of business, playing the right way, building our game so that it’s really sound going toward the end of the year.”

Vegas is topping the Pacific Division with 64 points, just one point ahead of the Seattle Kraken and Los Angeles Kings, and two points above the Edmonton Oilers. The Golden Knights are scoring 3.12 goals per game (17th in the NHL) while yielding 2.85 goals in return (12th).
Adin Hill guarded the cage last Tuesday, posting 16 saves on the night. The 26-year-old netminder is now 11-5-1 with a 2.63 GAA and .910 save percentage in 2022-23. Logan Thompson is projected to patrol the crease Thursday versus Minnesota, and the 25-year-old rookie carries a 19-13-3 record with a 2.69 GAA and .913 save percentage.
