Vegas Golden Knights (24-11-1) vs. Los Angeles Kings (19-12-6)

The 2022-23 NHL season goes on Tuesday, December 27, with the Vegas Golden Knights facing off against the Los Angeles Kings in the Pacific Division showdown at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

Vegas and Los Angeles lock horns for the first time since their season opener on October 11 when the Golden Knights outlasted the Kings 4-3 as +100 road dogs. It’s a pick ‘em contest this time around, while the totals are listed at 6.0 goals.

The Vegas Golden Knights wrapped up a four-game homestand this past Friday. They defeated the St. Louis Blues 5-4 in a shootout to record their second consecutive win and the fourth in six games. It was a proper back-and-forth battle, and the Golden Knights had to rally from a one-goal deficit twice.

Vegas outshot St. Louis 32-29 and went 1-for-2 with the man advantage. Chandler Stephenson had a big game, finishing with a goal and three assists, while Michael Amadio added one goal and a pair of dishes. Stephenson has been outstanding as of late, racking up three goals and ten assists over his previous six appearances.

“He’s a guy that when he first came here, you can see the skill he had an d what he can do,” Stephenson said of Amadio. “There are a lot of little plays that he makes it kind of go unnoticed.”

The Golden Knights are topping the Western Conference three points ahead of the Dallas Stars. They rank tenth in the NHL in goals for (3.31 per contest) and 11th in goals against (2.78). Logan Thompson is expected to patrol the crease Tuesday versus Los Angeles, and the 25-year-old rookie is 16-8-0 with a 2.66 GAA and .914 save percentage. Thompson has won three of its past four starts.
