The best two teams in the Atlantic 10 meet Friday as the Dayton Flyers host the Virginia Commonwealth Rams. Dayton is 12-5 on the season and 4-0 in the A10 while VCU is also 12-5 and 3-1 in the conference. These two foes split two games last season but this is their first matchup of 2022-23. Tipoff is at 9:00 p.m. EST at UD Arena in Dayton.

The VCU Rams have jumped out to a 12-5 start and they are 3-1 in the Atlantic 10. Their lone loss came on January 4 at Duquesne, but they have won their two games since that defeat, beating Davidson convincingly, 89-72, and Loyola by a significant margin, 78-64. The win over Loyola Tuesday was a clinic as VCU shot 57% from the floor and 50% from three.

Jalen DeLoach led the Rams with 16 points and 7 rebounds in the win while Adrian Baldwin had 13 points and 8 assists. David Shriver scored 12 points while Jamir Watkins and Jayden Nunn each had 10 points. VCU averages 71.1 points per game and gives up 64.9 points per game. Baldwin leads the team with 13.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. The Rams are ranked No. 100 in the nation by KenPom.
