The Vanderbilt Commodores and Alabama Crimson Tide face off on Saturday in a Week 4 college football showdown at Bryant-Denny. When these two teams faced off in 2017 it was Alabama that secured the 59-0 victory.
Alabama comes into this game with a perfect 3-0 record and that includes a 20-19 victory over the Texas Longhorns. In the last game against Louisiana-Monroe, they were up 21-0 and they never looked back as they cruised to the 63-7 victory. Bryce Young completed 13 of his 18 passes for 236 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. He looked good, but the interceptions were an issue, and they need him to clean that up here. Alabama’s defense is giving up only 8.7 runs per game which is 10th in the league.
On the other side of this matchup is the Vanderbilt Commodores who sit with a 3-1 record overall, but there are some real questions about this team. The only loss for this team came against Wake Forest, and the defense gave up 45 points in that game. In the last game against Northern Illinois, the offense scored 38 points, and that led to the nine-point victory. AJ Swann completed 18 of his 28 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns. Re’Mahn Davis rushed 23 times for 116 yards and a touchdown. Will Sheppard finished with 10 catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns.
