Vancouver Canucks vs. Winnipeg Jets Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-8-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas

The Vancouver Canucks face the Winnipeg Jets with both teams on opposite ends of the standings. The Canucks have a 17-18-3 record and are near the bottom of the Pacific Division while the Jets have a 25-13-1 record and with a four-game winning streak have leaped into second place in the Central Division. Both teams look to improve in the Western Conference and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Canucks are having a rough season despite their offense stepping up and scoring 3.37 goals per game. Elias Pettersson and Bo Horvat have scored 45 goals and 44 assists to lead the top line but the entire offense has stepped up. Andrei Kuzmenko, J.T. Miller, and Ilya Mikheyev have combined for 43 goals and 47 assists while defensemen Quinn Hughes and Oliver Ekman-Larsson have added two goals and 37 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has let the Canucks down, allowing 3.82 goals per game including 15 goals in the last four games. Tyler Myers, Luke Schenn, and Quinn Hughes have combined for 4.7 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. Additionally, goaltender Spencer Martin has struggled in the net with a .883 save percentage and a 3.63 goals-against avera ge on 626 shots.
