The Vancouver Canucks face the Washington Capitals with both teams heading in opposite directions this season. The Canucks are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.71 goals per game. J.T. Miller, Elias Pettersson, and Brock Boeser have scored 79 goals and 108 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Conor Garland, Dakota Joshua, and Ilya Mikheyev have combined for 30 goals and 40 assists while defensemen Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek have added 15 goals and 85 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been incredible but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.57 goals per game. Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek have combined for 8.5 defensive point shares and 83 blocked shots while Tyler Myers and Ian Cole have combined for 4.6 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Thatcher Demko has been great with a .918 save percentage and a 2.47 goals-against average on 1110 shots with 15.8 goals saved above average.
