The 2022-23 NHL season goes on with a 10-game Monday card when the Vancouver Canucks take on the Los Angeles Kings in this Western Conference clash at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The puck drops at 10:30 p.m. ET. 

This is the fourth meeting between the teams this season, with Vancouver winning the first two. Los Angeles won in Vancouver on April 2, 4-1. The Kings were the favorites (-113) with the total set at 6.5. L.A. is the favorite in this game (-195). 

The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Calgary Flames in a shootout on Saturday, 3-2. It was the second straight win for the team, who went 2-2-1 during their five-game homestand. They now close the season with three games on the road where they are 17-16-6 this season. The Canucks are eliminated from playoff contention. 

Vancouver jumped out to a 2-0 lead only to see Calgary score two third-period goals to force overtime. Cole McWard scored his first goal of the season and Elias Pettersson netted his 38th. Petterson leads the team in scoring and needs one point to reach the 100-point plateau. Vancouver is 13th in goals per game (3.32) and is 12th on the power-play (22.1%). The Canucks are even better on the road, averaging 3.47 goals per game and are at 22.4% on the power-p lay.

Thatcher Demko (13-14-4, 3.20, .900) was very good, stopping 41 shots. He had allowed six goals in than five in back-to-back starts but has allowed five total goals over his last three appearances. The Canucks are 26th in goals against average (3.63) and are dead last in penalty killing (70.9%). The penalty killing is at 69.3% on the road, but are at 83.7% in their last 10.
