UTSA vs. Florida International (FIU) Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-14-2022

The UTSA Roadrunners (4-2, 3-3 ATS, 5-1 O/U) clash with the FIU Golden Panthers (2-3, 1-4 ATS, 2-3 O/U) in a C-USA battle on Friday evening. The Roadrunners posted a narrow home victory against Western Kentucky last week. The Panthers were dealt an ugly home loss by UConn in their previous action. These foes last met in 2018 in a game FIU won 45-7.

The Texas San Antonio Roadrunners are looking good. Their only defeat of the season was against the Texas Longhorns and the squad is undefeated in their two conference games. They easily defeated Middle Tennessee State in the conference opener by a 45-30 score and were 6.5 point favorites in a 31-28 home win against a good Western Kentucky squad last week. The Roadrunners have now won four consecutive games propelled by a barrage of points. They have covered in one of those four games.

The Roadrunners have a potent QB in Frank Harris. The senior QB has eclipsed 300 passing yards in all but two games and has accumulated 1997 passing yards along with a 13:5 TD-to-INT ratio. UTSA also has a good RB in Brenden Brady. The senior RB had 82 rushing yards last week and leads the squad with 386 rushing yards on 3.9 yards per carry.

The receiving core is among the best in the C-U SA. De’Corian Clark has surpassed 100 yards in two out of his last three clashes and is up to 618 receiving yards. The UTSA offense has scored at least 30 points in five of their six games.

The Roadrunners' defense is a work in progress. They recorded one of their better performances of the season last week, allowing a season-low 28 points but conceded 481 total yards. They are pegged at 112th against the pass and 100th against the run, but to be fair, they had a difficult non-conference schedule.UTSA is averaging 37.3 points, good for 27th. The defense is conceding an average of 33 points, tabbing them 112th in the FBS.
