The UTEP Miners (4-4) host a C-USA showdown against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (3-4) on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Sun Bowl Stadium.
In their last outing, the Miners beat the Florida Atlantic Owls 24-21. The Blue Raiders are coming off of a loss to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers by the score of 35-17. In that matchup with the Owls, Gavin Hardison had 178 yards on 16-of-26 passing (61.5%) for the Miners, with one touchdown and one interception. He also carried the ball eight times for 22 yards and one rushing touchdown. Deion Hankins ran for 138 yards on 17 carries (8.1 yards per carry). Tyrin Smith had 70 yards on seven catches (10.0 per reception) in that game. Chase Cunningham’s performance for the Blue Raiders against the Hilltoppers included 32-of-51 passing for 228 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He rushed nine times for 29 yards and one touchdown. Joe Ervin carried the ball six times for 23 yards. He caught five passes for 22 yards. Yusuf Ali caught six passes for 43 yards (7.2 yards per catch).
The Miners (-1.5) are slight favorites against the Blue Raiders. The total is set at 52 points.
