Utah vs Arizona State – Basketball Picks 2/18/23

The Utah Utes and Arizona State Wildcats face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at the ASU Wells Fargo Arena. When these two teams faced off in February of last year it was Arizona State that secured the  63-61 victory. 

Utah comes into this game with a 17-10 record overall and they have gone 14-13 against hte spread. In the last game against Arizona’s defense really struggled giving up 88 points, and the offense only managed 62 points. One big problem was Ben Carlson only scored two points, and they need more production from him. Utah is averaging 70.2 points while their defense is giving up 62.7 points per game. The offense is ranked 207th while the defense is ranked 27th in college basketball. In this game the defense is going to need to be good. Branden Carlson is averaging 16.6 points while shooting 53 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from behind the three point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is Arizona State who sits with an 18-9 record overall and they have gone 11-15-1 against the spread. In the last game against Colorado, Arizona State scored only 59 points and that led to the eight-point defeat. DJ Horne had a strong game finishing with 15 points and four rebounds. Arizona State is averaging 70.7 points while their defense is giving up 66.7 points per game. Desmond Cambridge JR is averaging 13.6 points while shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 33.9 percent from behind the three point line.
