Utah Jazz vs. New Orleans Pelicans Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-23-2022

The New Orleans Pelicans (2-0) will host the Utah Jazz (2-0) on Sunday. These teams split their head-to-head games last season and against the spread, but both have different looks this season.

The Utah Jazz went 49-33 last season but after losing to the Dallas Mavericks in six games in the first round of the playoffs, they decided to start rebuilding in the offseason. The Jazz made two blockbuster trades in the offseason sending Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland and Ruby Gobert to Minnesota. Utah is now loaded up with draft picks in their future but entered this season with an over/under total of just 24.5.

The new look Jazz are 2-0 after beating the Denver Nuggets 123-102 on Wednesday and Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime 132-126 on Friday. The Jazz have six players averaging more than 12 ppg, led by Lauri Markkanen who has led the team with 20.5 ppg and added 8.5 rebounds per game. Jarred Vanderbilt is averaging a team-best 13 rebounds per game.

In Friday's win over the Timberwolves Jordan Clarkson scored a team-best 29 points. The Jazz collectively lit it up from the three-point range as well, hitting 20 of 50 attempts.
