Utah Jazz vs. Houston Rockets Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-24-2022

The surprising Utah Jazz look to pick up another win Monday when they travel to Houston to take on the Houston Rockets. The Rockets are still looking for their first win, while the Jazz are playing the second night of a back to back. The Jazz took three out of four from Houston last season and were 2-2 against the spread. The Rockets are a 1 point favorite in this one.

The Utah Jazz came into this season expected to be one of the worst teams in the league. Many had them pegged as the team with the best chance of winning the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes. But someone forgot to tell the Jazz that as they rattled off wins in their first two games of the season. And they were not games against bad teams. In the opener, they beat Denver at home, easily covering as a 6.5 point underdog. Then they went on the road and beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 132-126 on the road in overtime. In case you are wondering who the heck is on the Jazz now, well, the main man looks to be former sixth man of the year, Jordan Clarkson.

Clarkson is now a starter, poured in 29 points and dished out 6 assists against the Timberwolves. He drained 7 threes. Who else? Well, you have journeyman Kelly Olynyk, who scored 21 points in the win over Minnesota. You also have former Cleveland Cavalier Lauri Markkanen, who scored 24 points and hauled in 13 rebounds. Former Cav Collin Sexton is also on the team, but he only had 11 points. And Mike Conley is there too — he had 12 points and 11 assists. The Jazz took on the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night, so this will be a back to back for them.
