Two Western Conference foes will duke it out on Monday night, with the Utah Jazz (1-2; 1-2-0 ATS) taking on the Denver Nuggets (3-0; 2-1-0 ATS). This game will be the first meeting of the season between the clubs, taking place in Denver's Ball Arena. The home team has left victorious the last five times these franchises crossed paths. Will Monday's matchup mark a sixth? At 9:00 p.m. EDT, the world will find out.

After last year's Jazz had a horrible defense that ended any hope of a playoff berth, this year's team naturally followed it up with arguably the NBA's worst defense. Utah allowed 130 to the Kings, 118 to the Clippers, and 126 to the Suns. Now, the defending champs stand in their way. Right now, Utah's defense is bottom five in effective field goal percentage and turnover rate. They've also allowed opponents to attempt a three on 46.6% of their shot attempts, the worst mark in the league. The defensive end of the court is ugly in Utah.

Now, the Jazz know how to score, once again led by Lauri Markkanen and his 46.2% accuracy from three this season. Utah has also been strong in the paint. 42.1% of their shots have come at the rim, while they have the league's second-highest offensive rebounding rate. The Jazz may not live at the free throw line, but most teams would dream of knocking down 82.1% of their attempts. Turnovers can be an issue, but Utah is capable of scoring with anyone.
