UT Arlington vs. LSU Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-2-2022

The LSU Tigers go for their seventh win of the season Friday when they host the University of Texas-Arlington Mavericks. The Tigers of the SEC are 6-1 on the campaign while the Mavericks, of the Western Athletic Conference, are 4-4 this season. Tipoff is 8:00 p.m. at the Maravich Center in Baton Rouge.

The Texas Arlington Mavericks have gotten off to a 4-4 start this season. It has been a mixed bag so far, as the 4-4 record would indicate. They opened the season with a 77-66 loss at Oklahoma State. They followed that up with easy wins over Southwestern University and Hardin-Simmons, neither of which are Division 1 schools. After that, they had two really bad losses to Nevada and Drexel, where they averaged 40 points per game.

Their best win of the season came next, a 60-56 win over Northern Kentucky on the road as a 7.5 point underdog on Nov. 22 and then followed that up with a 79-65 loss to East Carolina the next day at a pre-Thanksgiving tournament in Florida. They got back in the win column with an east 99-41 win over something called Howard Payne, a Division 2 school, on Monday. Not a lot to report there as it was a blowout against a cupcake opponent, but on the season, no player averages in double figures. Shemar Wilson leads the team with 8.9 ppg and 8.5 rpg while Aaron Cash averages 8.8 ppg. Texas Arlington is ranked No. 300 in the nation by KenPom.
