The (5-7) Texas-Arlington Mavericks and (0-12) California Golden Bears will play Wednesday at Haas Pavilion in one of the final non-conference games of the regular season. The Mavericks defeated San Francisco 68-63 in their most recent matchup. The Golden Bears were defeated 71-62 by Santa Clara in their past game.

Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Bears are 4.5-point spread favorites, and the game total is 119 points.

In their five-point win over the Dons, the Mavericks picked up their first road win with a 45.6 percent shooting performance. UT-Arlington led by nine at the half and did enough to hold off San Francisco in the second half. The Mavericks outrebounded the Dons 40-28, collecting 13 offensive rebounds. It was a team effort, as six Mavs scored eight or more points.

In its previous matchup at Texas State, UT-Arlington shot 49.0 percent from the floor but turned the ball over 16 times and shot just 4-for-13 (30.8%) from distance. The Mavericks trailed 33-24 at halftime, and 41 second-half points weren't enough to complete the comeback effort. Junior guard Kyron Gibson led the scoring march with 19 points on 8-fo-16 shooting.

This season, UT-Arlington is scoring 68.6 points on 41.0 percent shooting, including 29.8 percent from distance. It's averaging 38.4 rebounds per game, the 14th-most in the nation. UT-Arlington's offensive efficiency rating, adjusted for schedule, is ranked 333rd in Division 1, per KenPom.

The Mavericks are surrendering 62.6 points on defense. Their opponents are shooting 39.3 percent from the floor and 31.7 percent from three-point range. UT-Arlington's adjusted defensive efficiency rating is ranked 147th. The Mavericks are turnover-prone, as their assist-to-turnover ratio (0.61) is the 11th-worst in the nation.
