UNLV Rebels (4-6) vs. Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (2-9)

The UNLV Rebels and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors lock horns Saturday, November 19, 2022, to wrap up Week 12 of the 2022 college football season. While the hosts have nothing to play for besides their pride, the visitors are still alive in the race for bowl eligibility.

The Rebels head to Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu, Hawaii, as firm 11-point favorites with a total of 55.5 points. Last year, UNLV beat the Rainbow Warriors 27-13 as a 3.5-point home dog, and the game went under a total of 55.5 points.

The UNLV Rebels (4-6; 7-3 ATS; 2-4 conf.) fought bravely in Week 11 but still extended their losing streak to five games. They suffered a 37-30 home defeat to the red-hot Fresno State Bulldogs in a proper back-and-forth battle. The Rebels outgained the Bulldogs 391-381 in total yards and won the turnover battle 1-0, but it wasn’t enough, as they couldn’t cope with Jake Haener and Fresno State’s passing offense.

“Disappointing? Of course,” UNLV junior running back Aidan Robbins said. “But that’s life. We got hit in the mouth, and it’s all about how you’re going to respond,”

Aidan Robbins led the charge for the Rebels in Week 11, posting 144 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Sophomore signal-caller Doug Brumfield completed 18 of his 33 passing attempts for 172 yards while toting the ball ten times for 60 yards and a TD, and Daniel Gutierrez made all of his five field-goal attempts.

Doug Brumfield has missed a couple of games this season due to an injury. Through eight appearances, Brumfield has tossed for 1,610 yards, nine touchdowns, and four picks, completing 65.6 percent of his passing attempts. He’s also rushed 70 times for 202 yards and six scores, while Aidan Robbins has 931 yards from scrimmage and ten touchdowns on his season tally.

The Rebels are scoring 26.4 points per game (tied-82nd in the nation) on 352.0 total yards (95th). Their defense ranks 92nd in the country in points allowed (28.9 per game), 63rd in passing yards (222.9), and 80th in rushing yards (154.1).
