UMass at Tulane 9/3/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The UMass Minutemen and Tulane Green Wave face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at Yulman Stadium.

UMass comes into this game sitting with an 1-11 record overall and since 2012 UMass has only won only 18 games total. It starts with the offensive struggles for this team and last year they only averaged 16 points per game. This is a team that does get back nine starters from last year, but it’s unclear if that’s really a good thing with how bad they were last season. It’s unclear who is going to get the start this season for UMass, but Brady Olson seems to be the favorite at this point. UMass struggled to move the ball last season, through the air and it needs to be improved upon. The defense last year was also a big issue allowing over 43 points per game. Junior Donte Lindsay is back in the secondary and he is the best player on that side of the ball.

On the other side of this matchup is the Tulane Green Wave who finished last season with a 2-10 record overall and the hope is that this will be a bounce-back season. The passing offense last year for Tulane wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t good enough, because of turnovers. The offense averaged 387 yards and in this game, they are going to need the offense to be better here, and get into the end zone more. On defense, Tulane struggled to stop the run, and that is going to need to be a key, especially in this game. Star defensive end Darius Hodges is back and last year he finished with five sacks.
