The UFC made a triumphant return in Brazil as the UFC Sao Paulo card delivered an entertaining night of fights. Hometown bet Jailton Almeida (20-2) proved why he was the favorite in UFC odds after beating former title challenger Derrick Lewis (27-12) in the main event via unanimous decision.
“Malhadinho” used his superior grappling skills against “The Black Beast” to dominate him on the ground and neutralize his one-punch knockout power. Almeida also set a new heavyweight record in control time after chalking up a total of 21:10. He improved his UFC record to 6-0 and is likely to move up in the division's ranking.
