The Gauchos used a fast-paced offense to jump out to a 49-41 lead at the half, then extended their lead in the second. The team shot better than 54% in each half, hitting 55.9% of their shots overall. That included going 9-18 from three-point range, but they were just 19-30 from the free-throw line. Yohan Traore led the team with 24 points and Josh Pierre-Louis had a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

UC-Santa Barbara is 140th in the KenPom rankings and 14 9th according to Bart Torvik. The Gauchos are 119th in points per 100 possessions (107.0) and 181st in points allowed per 100 possessions (104.7). Wednesday’s victory continues an impressive run as the team is averaging 82.7 points per game behind 50.5% shooting from the floor, seventh best in the country.
