UConn vs St. John's Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/25/23

The UConn Huskies and St. John’s Red Storm face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at Madison Square Garden. When these two teams faced off on January 15th it was St. John’s that secured the 85-74 victory. 

UConn comes into this game with a 21-7 record overall and they are coming off quite the victory in the last game. UConn’s offense put up 87 points against Providence and they won in blowout fashion. Jordan Hawkins had a strong game for UConn finishing with 20 points and six rebounds. UConn is averaging 78.4 points while their defense is giving up 64.5 points per game. The offense is ranked 39th in the league while the defense is ranked 45th overall in college basketball. Adama Sanogo is having a strong season averaging 16.8 points while shooting 58.8 percent from the field. 

On the other side of this matchup is St. John’s who sits with a 17-12 record and they are also coming off a win. The offense put up 79 points against Georgetown and were able to win by nine points. Joel Soriano had a strong game finishing with 16 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. St. John’s is averaging 76.8 points while their defense is giving up 74.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 56th in college basketball while the defense is ranked 301st. They want to push the pace but at times the defense has been a big issue. Joel Soriano is averaging 15.4 points while shooting 57 percent from the field.
