NC State is not nearly as impressive as their record and No. 12 ranking in the AP Poll. The Wolfpack were lucky to escape with a 21-20 win over East Carolina in their season opener and failed to impress in a 27-14 win over Texas Tech last week. While they trounced Charleston Southern 55-3, they' ;ve struggled against more formidable competition.
Connecticut is coming off back-to-back blowout losses as their offense has sputtered. The Huskies got blasted by Michigan last week and by Syracuse as well the week before that, losing by a combined 93 points.
The main issue for UCONN is that they're missing multiple starters and are banged up at the skill positions. That makes them tough to bet, but laying nearly 40 points with NC State has no appeal despite the Wolfpack's offense likely getting back on track against the defenseless Huskies. Connecticut is -6 in turnover differential as well, so they've been too careless with the football.
