Bowl season'is underway after an exciting 2022 college football campaign. One successful program taking part in the postseason once again is the No. 18 UCLA Bruins, who will'face the Pittsburgh Panthers at the Sun Bowl on Friday, Dec. 30.

UCLA Bowl Game History

UCLA has frequented the college football postseason throughout its history. The Bruins have played in 36 bowls prior to facing Pittsburgh.

The Bruins made their first bowl appearance in 1943 as part of the Pacific Coast Conference. They were defeated by Georgia, 9-0, at the Rose Bowl that year.

UCLA has qualified for 16 bowls since the 1998 NCAAF season. Having said that, this year's Sun Bowl will be the Bruins' m ost recent appearance since 2017 when they lost, 35-17, to Kansas State at the Cactus Bowl.
