UC-Santa Barbara at Cal State-Fullerton – 12/29/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The UCSB Gauchos will make the two-hour trip down to Orange County and face Cal-State Fullerton Titans in Big West play this Wednesday from the Titan Gym on ESPN. Santa Barbara and Fullerton have faced off 95 times, and despite being swept by the Titans last season, the Gauchos lead the all-time series 52-43.

UCSB improved to 9-2 after beating Appalachian State in Phoenix. The Gauchos kept the momentum going, picking up their fifth straight win and covering along the way. UCSB is scoring 72.3 points per game, while allowing 64.6 ppg, and shooting 47.9% from the floor.

UCSB returns another rugged squad, and they go about seven deep. Ajay Mitchell has been very consistent early on, reaching double figures in every contest, including a career-high 25-point performance in the win over Portland State. Mitchell leads UCSB in scoring (15.4) and assists (4.6). Cal transfer Andre Kelly is finding life in Santa Barbara a bit more relaxing, and after double-doubling in the regional win over Pacific, he leads the team in rebounding (7.4), while scoring 9.1 ppg. Senior forward Miles Norris is coming off of two straight double-doubles, and he’s posting career-highs with 13.5 ppg and 6.8 rpg.
