San Diego Toreros (7-8) vs. San Francisco Dons (11-5)

The West Coast Conference betting action continues on New Year’s Eve when the San Diego Toreros square off against the San Francisco Dons at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center in San Francisco, California.

The tip-off is set for 7:00 PM ET, and the Dons shoot for their sixth consecutive victory over the Toreros. San Francisco opens as a firm 10-point home fave, while the totals sit at 151.5 points.

The San Diego Toreros fell to 7-8 SU and 4-9 ATS following their WCC opener against Saint Mary’s this past Thursday. The Gaels routed San Diego 85-58 as 16-point home favorites, and the Toreros made just 36.2% of their field goals (5-for-17 from deep). It was San Diego’s second defeat in a row and the fifth in seven games.

The Toreros couldn’t cope with the Gaels, who shot 56.1% from the field. San Diego handed out eight assists and committed 13 turnovers while allowing 12 offensive rebounds. Sophomore forward Bendji Pierre and sophomore guard Wayne McKinney notched 14 points apiece, while senior guard Jase Towsend sat out the fourth straight game due to an undisclosed injury.

San Diego is No. 198 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 187 in the KenPom rankings. The Toreros score 107.5 points per 100 possessions (70th in the country), but their defense has been terrible so far this season. San Diego yields 108.8 points per 100 possessions (309th) on 51.9% shooting from inside the arc (292nd) and 41.5% from beyond the 3-point line (362nd).
