The UC San Diego Tritons will head to Honolulu to face the Hawaii Warriors in Big West play from the Stan Sheriff Center. Hawaii has won all three meetings, including a 13-point victory last month.
UC-San Diego fell to 8-16 after losing to CSU-Bakersfield at home. The Tritons let the Roadrunners rally back in the second half, and they’d fall in overtime by six points. UCSD is scoring 67.1 points per game, while allowing 72.2 ppg, and shooting 42.4% from the floor.
UC-San Diego has dropped seven of their last nine games since losing to Hawaii at home, and there’s a slim chance they avoid a season sweep here. The Tritons are 3-9 in Big West play, with a 5-7 road record. Bryce Pope has the Tritons lone source of consistent production this season. The junior guard leads the team in scoring at 18.6 ppg despite a recent cold stretch of play.
