UAB defeated North Texas on Friday afternoon 76-69 in their semifinal game and have won each of the last eight. FAU defeated Middle Tennessee 68-65 in their semifinals game on Friday. The victory was Florida Atlantic’s sixth straight. UAB and Florida Atlantic do not have any players listed on their injury reports.
UAB played against the toughest defense in the nation on Friday and was successful, scoring 76 points. The Blazers received a huge game from Jordan Walker, who scored 32 points, shooting 8 for 18 overall and sinking 10 of 11 free throws. UAB shot 41.5% overall and 33.3% from behind the three-point line. UAB used a tough defense of their own, limiting North Texas to 40.7% shooting overall and 31.6% from long range.
Jordan Walker, who scored 32 points in Friday's victory, was the leading scorer during the regular season for UAB with an average of 23.3 points per game. Eric Gaines was the second leading scorer with an average of 11.9 points per game and also led the Blazers in assists with an average of 4.7 dishes per contest. UAB out rebounded North Texas 38-35 on Friday and on the season the king of the boards f or UAB was Trey Jemison with an average of 8.3 rebounds per contest.
