Rice Stadium in Houston, TX will welcome the UAB Blazers for a week 5 game against the Rice Owls. The Blazers are 2-1 on the year following a 14 point win over Georgia Southern in week 3. Quarterback Dillon Hopkins led the way for the Blazers completing 12 of 19 passes for 125 yards and one touchdown. DeWayne McBride proved to be the primary weapon for UAB carrying the ball 28 times for 223 yards and four touchdowns.
The Rice Owls go back home in week 5 following a seven point loss to Houston on Saturday. Offensively Rice moved the ball well totaling 424 yards of offense and 334 through the air to score 27 points but two turnovers and only three points in the fourth quarter cost them the game.
