On Saturday, the Wyoming Cowboys (0-1) from the Mountain West Conference will host the Tulsa Golden Hurricane from the American Athletic Conference on FS1. The all-time series is tied at 3-3, but these programs have only played once since 1998. Tulsa won the most recent meeting 24-21 at home in 2019.

According to Athlon Sports, the Golden Hurricane are rated 90th in the nation entering this season. The media also selected Tulsa to finish eighth in the AAC, behind Houston, Cincinnati, UCF, SMU, Memphis, East Carolina, and Tulane. In 2021, Tulsa started the year 0-3 but finished the season 7-6 after a 30-17 win over Old Dominion in the Preach Bowl.

This year's team welcomes back six starters on each side of the ball. Davis Brin, a 6'2 senior is expected to start again. In 2021, he completed 59.3% of his passes for 3,254 yards with 18 touchdown passes and 16 interceptions. Brin will be operating with a new offensive coordinator this season, and also without his top wide receiver from last season. The defense is led by defensive end Anthony Goodlow, who had a team-best six sacks last season.
