Tulsa Golden Hurricane (2-1) vs. Ole Miss Rebels (3-0)

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane head to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, to take on the Ole Miss Rebels in Week 4 of the 2022 college football season. These two schools meet for the first time since 1964 when Tulsa outlasted Ole Miss 14-7, so let’s see what’s the best Golden Hurricane vs. Rebels betting pick for Saturday, September 24, 2022.

The Rebels are listed as firm 21-point favorites. The Golden Hurricane sit at +945 moneyline odds, while the totals open at 65.5 points.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane started their 2022 campaign with a tough 40-37 double-overtime defeat at the Wyoming Cowboys. They couldn’t satisfy the odds as 6.5-point road favorites, and the Golden Hurricane failed to cover the spread once more in Week 2, beating the Northern Illinois Huskies 38-35 as 6.5-point home favorites.

“I was very pleased with the way our team played on Saturday”, Tulsa head coach Philip Montgomery said following Week 2 victory over NIU. “Just continuing to stay together through some adverse things that happened. But finding a way to win, that’s important at this time of the year.”

Tulsa finally covered in Week 3, dismantling the Jacksonville State Gamecocks 54-17 as a 12-point home fave. The Golden Hurricane outgained the Gamecocks 621-295 while scoring 40 first-half points. Senior QB Davis Brin tossed for 424 yards and four touchdowns, wideouts Keylon Stokes and JuanCarlos Santana combined for 290 yards and a couple of scores, while senior RB had seven totes for 32 yards and two touchdowns.

The Golden Hurricane are still without RB Anthony Watkins, who has sat out the first three games of the season due to an undisclosed injury. Last year, Watkins had 86 carries for 634 yards and four touchdowns. Tulsa will continue to lean on its passing offense, and Davis Brin has already tossed for 1,206 yards, 11 touchdowns, and one interception so far this season.
