Wednesday was spent working on college football previews for VSiN’s upcoming CFB Betting Guide.
The day started out bad with a loss on my Best Bet on the Seattle Storm + 3 at the Chicago Sky in a game that started at 9 a.m. PT. I felt good about the bet most of the game as the Storm stayed within striking distance until falling behind by 10 midway through the fourth quarter. The Storm rallied and actually got back to a push at 77-74 in the closing seconds, but Chicago added a free throw to get the cover at 78-74. While that was painful, it wasn’t as bad as the rest of the day as my sore throat kept getting worse while my other symptoms have subsided. Time to go with the NyQuil, which I was trying to avoid since it usually knocks me out and we’re back on the TTT beat. Let’s recap the one and only game in the country from Wednesday, and then look for the Best Bet on the MLB betting menu as baseball resumed with half a dozen games on Thursday, including doubleheaders with the Yankees-Astros and Tigers-A’s.Wednesday’s recap
WNBA: We don’t usually do this, but we’re left with no choice (and wish these teams had taken the day off, too). Chicago Sky beat the Seattle Storm 78-74 to extend their win streak to 5 games and snap the Storm’s 4-game streak. The game stayed Under the betting total of 159 points.
ICYMI: MLB faves are 816-544 SU (60 percent) at the All-Star Break with 23 games closing pick-'em (faves usually win around 59 percent, so they’re still ahead of the pace but the gap has been narrowing as it was closer to 61-62 percent for a good portion of the early season).
