I know it seems like I’ve spent hardly any time in the Tuley’s Takes home office this summer, and I was back on the road again on Wednesday as I flew with my daughter Peyton up to Reno for the next two days.
Peyton is my kid that wants to perform on Broadway (and went to New York over spring break for her 18th birthday present and saw “Phantom of the Opera,” “Beetlejuice” and “Hadestown” on Broadway). She’s entering her freshman year at the University of Nevada-Reno and has orientation on Thursday morning. We flew in a day earlier so we wouldn’t be rushing to get here Thursday morning (and risk having flight delayed, etc.), and the decision to arrive early was even easier when we found out “Hadestown” was being performed at the downtown Pioneer Center on Wednesday night. That was a Win-Win. Unfortunately, my Best Bets on the Rangers 1st 5 and Diamondbacks 1st 5 was Push-Push as the Rangers and Mariners were tied 1-1 after 5 innings and the Diamondbacks-Giants were tied 2-2. MLB: Underdogs went 10-4 on Wednesday with the biggest upsets by the Cardinals (+ 220 in 6-1 win at Blue Jays) and A's (+ 180 in 4-2 win vs. Astros). Mets (-180) beat Yankees 3-2 on Starling Marte’s walk-off single to sweep mini-subway series. Home teams also went 10-4. Unders went 8-3-3 with the pushes in ATL-PHI (9), SD-DET (7) and SF-AZ (8).
