Thursday felt like Christmas morning in the Tuley’s Takes home office. Even though we got a nice taste of college football last Saturday in the so-called “Week 0,” Thursday felt like the real kickoff of the season as we head into Labor Day Weekend.
It ultimately was a letdown as our “Best Bet” of the day on Louisiana Tech + 20.5 at Missouri looked promising in the first half but the SEC’s Tigers ran over LaTech and coasted to a 52-24 victory. At least we won our lone MLB play on the Rangers 1st 5 + 125 to show a slight profit on the night as they rallied with three runs in the top of the 5th to win the wager 4-2. CFB: Faves went 6-0 SU on the main betting board, but just 4-2 ATS as Pittsburgh (-7-5 in 38-31 win vs. West Virginia) and Oklahoma State (-20.5 in 58-44 win vs. Central Michigan) failed to cover in their wins. Penn State (-3.5) did cover in a 35-31 win at Purdue. Overs went 5-1.
MLB: Faves went 5-3 Thursday with upsets by the Mets (+ 120 in 5-3 win vs. Dodgers), Orioles (+ 160 in 3-0 win at Guardians) and Diamondbacks (+ 122 in 5-0 win vs. Brewers). Home teams went 6-2. Unders 5-3.
