Monday Best Bet Results
Monday was mostly spent in the Tuley’s Takes home office taking care of some household chores after our Hawaii vacation and waiting for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Unfortunately, I made my Best Bet of the day on the Panthers +120, but they lost 7-2 to the Golden Knight. I was conflicted as I am cheering for the Golden Knights to win Lord Stanley’s Cup, but we felt the Panthers were the right side to even the series. We thought we were going to at least show a small profit on the day as our other play was on the Royals First 5 Innings +130 at the Marlins, especially after they jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning and led 4-0 after the top of the third; however, the Marlins rallied to lead 7-4 after 5 innings. It’s results like this that make me wonder if I should start looking at First 3 Inning bets! But we’ll stick with the more common First 5 wagers for now and continue to monitor these results. The 0-2 split dropped our June record back to .500 at 6-6-1, but with our plus-money dogs we’re still showing a profit $47.73 based on $100 flat bets, according to the VSiN Pro Picks page after going 41-28-8 (59.4%) in the month of May for a profit of 15.6 units. Astros First 5 Innings +115 at Blue Jays: This is a “mini-anti-swagger” play against the Blue Jays as their 4-game winning streak was snapped by the Astros on Monday. We’re not thrilled with going against Kevin Gausman (4-3, 2.76 ERA), but we trust Hunter Brown (5-2, 3.61 ERA) to hold down the Jays. We feel the defending World Series champion Astros still have the better overall team and this should be closer to pick-’em (offshore giant CRIS actually had this at +133 overnight, so hopefully we get closer to that).
Orioles First 5 Innings -105 at Brewers: I was on the fence about adding this as a second play on Tuesday, but the Orioles (37-22) continue to overachieve on this season while the Brewers (32-27) have cooled off and I prefer Kyle Gibson (7-3, 3.89 ERA) over Freddy Peralta (5-5, 4.62 ERA).
