Tuley: Super Bowl LVII recap, Monday NHL Best Bet, plus early Super Bowl LVIII futures

Super Bowl LVII recap, Monday NHL Best Bet

Sunday was a super day in and out of the Tuley’s Takes home office with the Chiefs’ 38-35 come-from-behind victory over the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

I also did a separate recap of the game on the VSiN.com home page as I attempted to tell the story through 10 interesting props bets. I capped the day with my usual weekly appearance on “The Greg Peterson Experience” at 12:30 a.m. ET/9:30 p.m. PT Sunday night (right at top of the archived version) as we helped break down the Big Game while also giving a couple of value plays for next year’s Super Bowl to be held here in Las Vegas.

As for my personal bets on the game posted the last two weeks in these daily columns, I won my Best Bet on the 2-team, 6-points teaser using the Chiefs +7.5/Over 43.5 (and Over 44 and Over 44.5) as the Over was an easy winner while the Chiefs’ leg of the teaser only looked in doubt when Patrick Mahomes limped off the field late in the second quarter and they fell behind by 10 points at halftime.

We also easily won our top prop play on “Game to be tied after 0-0” as the two teams traded first-quarter TD drives to be tied at 7-7 (one of three times it was tied as the game certainly played out as we expected to be a close, back-and-forth shootout). Jalen Hurts’ 1-yard TD run also cashed our play on “Shortest TD Under 1.5 yards” for the 9th time in 10 years. We also won our play on “Largest Lead Under 14.5 points.” Our only losing prop was a long-shot play on a halftime tie.

Let’s recap the rest of Sunday’s action, including the other major team sports that wrapped up before the Super Bowl, and then offer a Best Bet for Monday in the NHL as well as my Super Bowl LVIII futures.

Sunday Recaps

NFL: Chiefs rallied in the second half to beat the Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII. The ViewFromVegas is they did it after closing as 1.5-point underdogs (game flew Over the closing betting total of 51.5 points). The Eagles led Chiefs 24-14 at halftime, covering as 0.5-point first-half favorites as it flew Over the first-half total of 24.5 points. Chiefs won the second half 24-11, covering as 3-point second-half faves and going Over second-half total of 24.5.
