Tuley: Saturday sports Best Bets in NHL Stanley Cup Finals, plus USFL and MLB

Friday Best Bet Results

Friday was a day of waiting around for Game 4 of the NBA Finals with our play on the Heat as 3.5-point home underdogs vs. the Nuggets.

Even though we felt we had a pretty productive day with getting an oil change on the family truckster (actually a minivan) and taking the kids out to a decent pizzeria (Those Guys Pies near the Tuley’s Takes home office in North Las Vegas, at least compared to Maddux’s birthday party with his friends that will be held at Chuck E. Cheese next week), it wasn’t worth the wait as the Nuggets covered in their 108-95 victory.

We pushed on our only MLB play of the day as we really liked the Marlins First 5 +120 at the White Sox, but Chicago jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Yasmani Grandal homer in the bottom of the 2nd and luckily we salvaged a split when Joey Wendle homered for the Marlins in the top of the 5th.

Let’s look for plays on Saturday in three different sports. After passing on the Golden Knights in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals because the Panthers were in the zig-zag role, we’re back on VGK as a short road underdog tonight. We also have an Over/Under bet in the USFL, plus one MLB First 5 dog. In addition, if you’re playing the ponies on Belmont Stakes Day, check out VSiN’s full coverage at VSiN.com/horse-racing/ as we already have our Team Tuley picks in the Belmont posted from Thursday, plus our friend Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed) has his breakdown of the full Belmont card, plus I’ll be adding Team Tuley’s plays on the rest of the day’s races later this morning.

NHL Saturday Best Bet

Golden Knights +100 at Panthers: As we mentioned above, we passed on the underdog Golden Knights in Game 3 as it was a tough spot with the series moving to Florida with the Panthers down 0-2 and in the zig-zag role. VGK still almost pulled it off before squandering a late 2-1 lead and then losing in overtime, but we expect them to bounce back now and take control of the series.

USFL Saturday Best Bet

Michigan Panthers-Pittsburgh Maulers Under 41: We went 2-0 ATS with our USFL plays last weekend, but we don’t like either underdog on Saturday’s card (we do like the Generals +2.5 on Sunday, but we’ll get to that tomorrow). As for this game, it features the two lowest-scoring offenses in the league with the Panthers averaging 17.6 points per game and the Maulers averaging a USFL-worst 16.5. That adds up to just over 34 points. Granted, the two defenses allow 22 and 20.6 per game, respectively, but we feel the total is set at least a field goal high at 41.
