Thursday was a travel day for Team Tuley as we returned back to Vegas from our 11-day Hawaiian vacation.
We were up at 5:45 a.m. Hawaii Time to pack and drive to the Honolulu airport and didn’t get back to the Tuley’s Takes home office until 11 p.m. Pacific Time (losing 3 hours on the West-to-East trip doesn’t help), so it felt like a lost day. We also lost our Best Bet of the day on the Heat +9 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals as they trailed the Nuggets by 9 after the first quarter, by 17 at halftime and 21 entering the fourth quarter, though they did rally to get close to covering but coming up just short in the 104-93 loss. Earlier, we thought we were going to win our MLB play on the Reds First 5 Innings +135 as they led 1-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth and ending up pushing 1-1 after 5. So, after going 41-28-8 (59.4%) in the month of May for a profit of $1,560.79 based on $100 flat bets, according to the VSiN Pro Picks page, but started June at 0-1 for a loss of 1 unit. Let’s look for plays on Friday’s full 15-game MLB schedule. Take these with a grain of salt as I almost passed with the limited options (and after crashing hard after Tweeting out the Thursday night result and posting our ATS Reporton as we wrote this while listening to “Follow the Money”). National First 5 Innings +135 vs. Phillies: We’ve had some success with the Nationals (24-32) and I feel this is a value play at the juicy plus-price as the Phillies are just 1 game better at 25-31. This line seems to be based on reputation, especially as we’ll take Washington starter Josiah Gray (4-5, 2.77 ERA) over Zack Wheeler (4-4, 3.60 ERA).
Blue Jays First 5 Innings +110 at Mets: Again, we’re taking a short dog in a First 5 that we believe is closer to pick-’em. No one is intimated by Justin Verlander (2-2, 4.80 ERA) right now, so we’ll count on Chris Bassitt (5-3, 3.80 ERA) to keep this close.
