Two teams riding winning streaks are set to put them on the line, with the #1 Houston Cougars (25-2, 16-11-0 ATS, 13-1 American) welcoming the Tulane Green Wave (17-7, 12-12-0 ATS, 10-3 American) to Texas. Houston already played in Tulane this season, leaving New Orleans with a 20-point win, their eighth straight in the series. The Cougars easily covered as 10.5-point favorites on the road in that one. Wednesday night in Houston's Fertitta Center at 9:00 p.m. EST, we'll see if Tulane can put up a better fight.

It's taken three separate games hitting overtime, but Tulane has managed to win five in a row, keeping their conference title chances alive. A win in this game would put them only 1.5 games behind Houston for first, and surely catapult them into the conversation for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament. Right now, KenPom's 80th-rated team is completely out of the conversation.

Tulane went into South Florida as 4.5-point favorites and won by 18 on the road. They only committed four turnovers and shot 49.3% as a team. Jalen Cook was cooking all night, finishing with a career-high 30 points along with a team-high seven assists.

The performance helped him earn AAC Player of the Week honors. He's scored at least 20 in all six games since facing Houston the first time. Cook is 23rd in the nation scoring 20.1 points per game and 33rd with 5.2 assists per game.

The G reen Wave play at an insane pace, and it leads to an American Conference-leading 82.3 points per game, the 11th-most nationally. As a team, they shoot 47.0%, which is 48th in the country. Their three-point shooting isn't quite as elite, at 33.5%. However, their free-throw shooting is fourth nationally at 79.8%.

They give up a lot of points, 75.3 per game, which is 10th out of 11 American Conference schools. They rank dead last in the conference in three-point defense, with opponents knocking down 35.5% against them. Overall, foes are shooting 42.8% against Tulane, seventh in the conference.
